Happy Campers =0)

We took a much needed vacation over to Northern Idaho last week.It was a fun week, and it was nice to spend time with my parents, aunt & uncle, and my grandma. It was also nice to not have any distractions, like television, phones, and the computer. Although, I was thrilled to get home to all of my modern day comforts. It really makes you appreciate the little conveniences of life! We spent a lot of time at the campground. There was a playground right next to our campsite, and we also brought Kylie and Carson's new bikes. They enjoyed fishing with the boys, and playing in the dirt. Lexi got a lot of snuggles by everyone, and did great on her first camping trip. This was our first camping trip ever with the kids. We also went to the amusement park over there, which was a ton of fun. There is also a water park attached to it, but the water was way too cold. The first couple of days up there were pretty cold, and then it warmed up. We are planning to go back and visit Northern Idaho again. Next time we want to go to the big indoor water park, we saw it on our way home (great timing!!)
We woke up one morning to find this ginormous goose egg on Carson's head. We thought maybe it was a mosquito bite (maybe by one the size of a bird!) but deep down we figured it was the result from his fall the previous week. Kyle took him in to Urgent care. I fought back my tears until he left. Thankfully, it was o.k. I guess it can take a week before the bump appears. The Dr. said that they aren't too concerned about external bumps. I guess it is good it finally came out! Poor little buddy!!
My Grandma Scott. This was her first time meeting Alexis. The kids had a great time putting together puzzles with her. I am sad that we don't get to see her more often! I was so glad she came!
Our trip to Silverwood
We were so surprised at how brave Carson and Kylie were on the rides. They loved them! We even rode the roller coaster with our hands in the air. They have a lot more courage than I did as a kid. I was a big baby, when it came to the rides!
Lexi enjoyed being outside, and watching all the action at the park.Of course we had to make some s'mores when we got back
Here is Alexis all bundled up for the night
I thought this was so cute! It would have been even cuter, if my dad had a bald head too! he. he
We now make the kids wear helmets from the time they wake up, until the time they go to bed! j/k. I have thought about it though! They had just got done riding their bikes.
Kyle let Carson reel in a fish. It was so funny how excited he got to catch his first fishy! We still owe Kylie a turn.

Carson's Concussion

I give myself an F- in my parenting skills today. I decided to take a trip to the store with the kids, to get some things for our upcomming vacation. We met Kyle for lunch and then walked across the parking lot to the store. I had also been to a different store yesterday with them, and it was not a good experience......at least no one was hurt. We just made a few messes. Well today was a million times worse. I thought I would be smarter, and bring my stroller. I put the baby in the back, and Kylie and Carson took turns riding in the front. When we arrived at the store, neither of them wanted to ride in the stroller, and they started goofing off really bad. I made Kylie sit down in the front, and held Carson up at the top (by the handle area). We have done this a million times before, and they always hold on, and we hold them from behind. I turned around to grab something, and Kylie stood up, which put all the weight in the back, and Carson went down backwards, right on to the hard cement floor! The baby was crying, but o.k., Carson was screaming.......I was embarrassed, and feeling really stupid. I really didn't think a ton of it at the time, because he bumps his head at least ten times a day. He was sweaty, and pale, so I took him to the bathroom, and washed his face. Then (like an idiot) I continued to look for him some good camping shoes. I was holding him, and he suddenly threw up all over me and him. I then put my stuff down in a hurry, and walked as quickly as I could to the nearest door, while holding him, and pushing the stroller with one hand. I called the Dr. on the way home, they said to take him to the E.R. I had to run home to change our clothes. Kyle picked us up, and we headed to the hospital. As soon as we got into the waiting room, Carson threw up a ton. The nurses took him back immediately. I had to explain my stupidity several times, to several different people. I had already been in tears, and thankfully they didn't make me feel bad about it, like before. We washed him off again, the Dr. checked him out, and wanted to monitor him for an hour. He seemed to improve, so they let us go. We have to watch him really close over the next 24 hours, and if he gets sick, or worse in any way, then he'll need a cat scan. They try not to do them, because of the high radiation levels.
Anyways, to say the least, I felt like the worst mother in the world today, and will not be going to any stores alone with all three kids, for a very long time.
Also, if you ever have to wait at the E.R, just make a mess right when you come in, and cause a big scene, and you will get taken back immediately.
Wish us Luck!!

Busy week

We started our week with a four month check up for Alexis. She now weighs 14 pounds and 12 ounces. She has dropped to the 75th percent for her weight, but still in the 95th for her height. She giggled for the first time last week, which of course melted our hearts. She has also discovered her hands, and likes to play with her new little toy.We also had to take Carson in to the Dr., because we thought that he might have asthma. She treated him with antibiotics for a sinus infection, but hasn't ruled out asthma yet. He tends to cough a lot at night.
My dad brought us his trailor in the middle of the week. He is going to let us have it. We are excited to use it soon. We have been working hard to clean it up really well. He used it for hunting, so it needed a little TLC. It has great potential! Thanks dad!
We found this un-invited visitor as soon as we opened it up. Kyle evicted him right away. He gave me the major heebie jeebies!!
Then the real fun began, when I decided to try and potty train the twins. I was sweating bullets that day! We had several messes......too many to count, along with a flooded bathroom. We had plans that evening, and didn't want to take the risk of accidents, so we put the diapers back on. I decided to hold off just for a couple of weeks, since the rest of this month will be very busy for us. I will have them trained soon, no matter what it takes! I may have to call in for back up! The balloons were a great reward, and helped to motivate them. We celebrated the end of our busy week, with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. David, Melissa and Aiden came for a visit. We always have a great time with them. Kylie and Carson loved hanging out with their little cousin, and they did pretty well sharing their toys.
We went swimming and had a B.B.Q at my parents house. The kids loved swimming, and even jumped off of the diving board. here is a picture of my lounge lizard.

This is my sister in law (Kyle's sister) She and her family just relocated to this area. She was a former Miss Idaho, and had tickets to the 60th anniversary of miss Idaho. She invited me to go with her for the second night. It was so awesome to see that up close. We sat in the fourth row. Kyle would have been in heaven.....especially when it was time for the swimsuit competition! he.he. Sherrie got to go up on stage and was recognized. I would love to go again someday, and look forward to seeing how Miss Nampa does at the Miss America pageant in January. We also managed to squeeze in another trip to the zoo. The kids love seeing the animals. There was a neat giraffe exhibit, where we could watch the giraffes eating inside their very tall house. One giraffe walked over and put his head against the glass right next to Kylie's face. It was so awesome. She was not scared a bit. Here are the cousins! Aiden is such a cute little guy, and he has an awesome personality. he has had a rough year, and it is always great to see him happy and smiling! Thanks for coming to visit us, we wished you lived closer.

We made it through the terrible two's!

They actually were not that terrible. They did tag team me left and right, but it kept my life interesting. Everyday there was something new that they discovered, which meant a new mess for me to clean up. I wouldn't have it any other way. I may have complained at the time, but when I look back at all these events, it makes me laugh.
On June 7th, 2006..........mine and Kyle's lives changed forever in the most amazing way. We always knew that kids would change our life, but I don't think you can fully realize how much.......until you have them.
They have come a long way! This was such an exciting day for us. We knew that when they were moved from the incubator to a crib, that we would get to bring them home really soon =)
Best Friends...most of the time
Our world now revolves around all three of them. They have made our life complete! It is so exciting to watch them grow, and learn new things each day. They pick up on everything, and we really have to becareful what we say these days, because they hear and remember all of our words, and use them in the correct context. We have heard them repeat some funny things!

We had a fun little party at our house, with family and friends. The kids had so much fun, and loved playing with their cousins that are new in town. They call them their new friends. Kylie was really embarrassed by us singing the birthday song to her. She did not know how to react. She had the funniest look on her face. Carson just smiled and soaked it all in! They got some really nice gifts. Their favorite was their new bikes.
This was a cute sugar cookie card that auntie Nicole sent them
They are wonderful little kids. We are so proud of them. Little Lexi is lucky to have such an awesome brother and sister. I am sure they will show her the ropes as she grows!

Carson and I have eachother all figured out. He knows when I am distracted by the t.v. or the phone, that he can get into things that he is not suppose to. I have learned to multi task, and watch t.v or talk on the phone, while I am staring at him. He knows when I am watching him, and he'll tell me "mom, you go watch your movie" so that he can have a little freedom. He,he.

We look forward to all the fun that age three will bring!!

Taking the monkeys to the zoo

The kids sometimes like to eat cereal, and watch cartoons in my bed in the mornings. Kylie asked for some cereal, so I gave her some in a little container. Then I did a few more things, and turned around to see her having the breakfast of champions.............................
And the other day I looked at Carson, and found this......................................................................
Kylie's flashlight shoes! I was a little worried. He was proudly wearing them.
So we decided to take our little monkeys to the zoo =0) We had a busy week and thought it would be fun to see the new African adventure addition at the zoo. For being such a good size city, and the capitol of Idaho, our zoo was really lacking some cool animals. It really needed this. The lions were amazing, and we couldn't believe how close we could get to them. I kept thinking what I would do, if that piece of glass was not separating them from my kids! They seemed so calm, and they acted like they enjoyed being so close to all the people.
Alexis had a great first trip to the zoo!
And it was Kyle's turn to take the twins on the merry go round. He is lucky that they slowed it down a little since our last visit!

The best job ever

Happy Mother's Day!! Thank you to Kyle and my little munchkins for making my day so special. I feel so privelaged to be their mom, and there is nothing else I would rather be at this time. It is the greatest experience in the world. I am grateful to all of the wonderful mother's who have influenced mine and Kyle's lives! I hope everyone had a fantastic day!

While the boys are away, the girls go play!

Kyle, Carson and my dad went on a Father and son camp out this weekend. I was so happy for Carson to be able to spend time with the boys. He spends most of his time with me and his two sisters, so it was great for him to go and do some boy stuff. He was really excited to sleep in my dad's new trailor, and do some fishing. Kyle said he is better at scaring the fish off, rather than attracting them. Carson has also been putting his cars in a pile, and pretends to make a fire out of them. I better be sure that all of our firestarters are way out of his reach!
My handsome little manMy mom, Kylie, Alexis and I did some girly stuff while they played in the dirt. My mom spent the night with us, and I took her out to the cutest cafe for lunch as part of her Mother's Day gift. We then got pedicures, and did some shopping. It was such a nice, relaxing day! Kylie wanted her nails done so bad, and when we got to the salon, she chickened out. The man helping us was so nice, and he let my mom paint her nails. She picked out a pretty blue color for her and I to use.
