Fun at the fair/growing up

Last weekend Kyle had the great idea of going to the Western Idaho state fair. We always have fun there each year. We love to look at all of the animals, and have some funnel cake.......yummy! Carson and Kylie really enjoyed riding the ponies. I know they are going to wish that every merry-go-round could have real ponies on them! Carson was fascinated by the tractors and he was thrilled to get to sit on one. We tried playing the carnival games, but realized we were getting ripped off!

We also did a little swimming over the weekend. I was very amazed and impressed with how well the kids did! They swam all by themselves for the first time with the help of some floaties. We were so proud of them and how brave they were. They even started jumping off the side of the pool! It is really exciting to watch them learn and grow each day. It seems like they are always learning something new and we are grateful to be able to watch every second of it!

Seeing the cows and petting them makes me want to be vegetarian at the time, but it never happens!

Weekend trip to Oregon/ visit with Aunt sherrie

My birth parents were in Oregon last weekend. My dad and birth father go hunting together, and they were getting some things ready at their elk camp. They asked Kyle and I if we would like to meet them over there for the weekend. It was only a 3 hour drive, and we only see them a few times a year, so we thought it was a great idea. They stayed at a hotel that had a big open space behind it. The kids had so much fun playing with toys and collecting rocks out there. We had a nice visit! We stayed at a hotel with a pool, so Carson and Kylie could practice their swimming skills. We came home on Sunday and that night Kyle's sister, her husband and their youngest boy came to stay a few days. They are in dental school in Ohio, and only one year away from graduation. We are trying to persuade them to establish their practice here by us! We would love to have some more family close by. We also had a nice time with them, it was great to see them!

Summer fun

We had a weekend filled with water last week. It started off on Friday, when the kids and I surprised Kyle by taking him to a fancy hotel in Boise that had a great indoor pool. It even had a 1ft. deep kiddie pool. Carson and Kylie loved it! I had won a free room at this new hotel, and I thought it would be fun to use around Kyle's birthday. Then on Saturday we went to the park in Boise where they held Plexus' summer company party. We had free admission to the zoo, a good B.B.Q, music and face painting with clowns. We then went swimming at my parents house and had another B.B.Q over there with some friends. Their pool has been down for repairs for a couple of months, and we are so glad it is fixed now. It was a fun weekend all around!

Happy Birthday to Kyle!

Only one more year left in his twenties! I am sure that makes him feel old! I surprised Kyle by having this shed in our backyard on Wednesday. He got it one day early. He was really amazed that I was able to pull that off by myself, without him knowing. He had such a funny look on his face when he finally noticed it out there! He is very happy with it.

It even matches our house.........man did I do a good job!! We went to pizza for dinner, and then had cake and ice cream at our house.
Kylie even shared her red balloon with him!

There was a pretty funny surprise in that pink bag! You can tell by the look on his face

He has one more surprise coming tonight. I planned a special evening for the four of us! I hope he remembers all this when my birthday comes around =0)

Happy 4th of July!

We spent our holiday in Eastern Idaho this year. We caravaned over with some friends of ours here in Nampa. That alone was pretty fun, we had two way radio's to communicate with. Kyle was getting pretty creative with his, and he kept us all entertained. We started off the festivities with a parade in Idaho Falls on Friday morning. Thanks to Kyle's brother and his family, we had front row seats. We then went to Kyle's parents house for a family B.B.Q. The day was topped off with the fireworks.....best I have ever seen. I think we will have to make a tradition of watching them there every year. Watching the fireworks and listening to the music always makes us really reflect on the freedoms that we are so blessed to have in this country. I always think about those who are sacrificing and serving to protect our country and I am so grateful for them!

A family picture while we wait for the parade

Carson feeling like a big boy in his own chair! He looks like he is ready to stir up some trouble!

Kylie half way through her sugar fest!

playing with sparklers while we wait for the show to start, Kylie is very messy from her sugar fest

Carson is not quite sure what to think about those sparklers. Should he be scared or having fun?

Nampa Airshow

Every summer the warhawk museum here in Nampa, has a really cool airshow. We have gone for about three years now. Kyle gets goosebumps when he sees all of the old airplanes. It is so cute! The kids loved watching them do flips in the air, and they learned how to say airplane that day. The pilots are so talented. I was just happy to be on the ground watching them, and not in the plane!
