Carson's Concussion

I give myself an F- in my parenting skills today. I decided to take a trip to the store with the kids, to get some things for our upcomming vacation. We met Kyle for lunch and then walked across the parking lot to the store. I had also been to a different store yesterday with them, and it was not a good experience......at least no one was hurt. We just made a few messes. Well today was a million times worse. I thought I would be smarter, and bring my stroller. I put the baby in the back, and Kylie and Carson took turns riding in the front. When we arrived at the store, neither of them wanted to ride in the stroller, and they started goofing off really bad. I made Kylie sit down in the front, and held Carson up at the top (by the handle area). We have done this a million times before, and they always hold on, and we hold them from behind. I turned around to grab something, and Kylie stood up, which put all the weight in the back, and Carson went down backwards, right on to the hard cement floor! The baby was crying, but o.k., Carson was screaming.......I was embarrassed, and feeling really stupid. I really didn't think a ton of it at the time, because he bumps his head at least ten times a day. He was sweaty, and pale, so I took him to the bathroom, and washed his face. Then (like an idiot) I continued to look for him some good camping shoes. I was holding him, and he suddenly threw up all over me and him. I then put my stuff down in a hurry, and walked as quickly as I could to the nearest door, while holding him, and pushing the stroller with one hand. I called the Dr. on the way home, they said to take him to the E.R. I had to run home to change our clothes. Kyle picked us up, and we headed to the hospital. As soon as we got into the waiting room, Carson threw up a ton. The nurses took him back immediately. I had to explain my stupidity several times, to several different people. I had already been in tears, and thankfully they didn't make me feel bad about it, like before. We washed him off again, the Dr. checked him out, and wanted to monitor him for an hour. He seemed to improve, so they let us go. We have to watch him really close over the next 24 hours, and if he gets sick, or worse in any way, then he'll need a cat scan. They try not to do them, because of the high radiation levels.
Anyways, to say the least, I felt like the worst mother in the world today, and will not be going to any stores alone with all three kids, for a very long time.
Also, if you ever have to wait at the E.R, just make a mess right when you come in, and cause a big scene, and you will get taken back immediately.
Wish us Luck!!

Busy week

We started our week with a four month check up for Alexis. She now weighs 14 pounds and 12 ounces. She has dropped to the 75th percent for her weight, but still in the 95th for her height. She giggled for the first time last week, which of course melted our hearts. She has also discovered her hands, and likes to play with her new little toy.We also had to take Carson in to the Dr., because we thought that he might have asthma. She treated him with antibiotics for a sinus infection, but hasn't ruled out asthma yet. He tends to cough a lot at night.
My dad brought us his trailor in the middle of the week. He is going to let us have it. We are excited to use it soon. We have been working hard to clean it up really well. He used it for hunting, so it needed a little TLC. It has great potential! Thanks dad!
We found this un-invited visitor as soon as we opened it up. Kyle evicted him right away. He gave me the major heebie jeebies!!
Then the real fun began, when I decided to try and potty train the twins. I was sweating bullets that day! We had several messes......too many to count, along with a flooded bathroom. We had plans that evening, and didn't want to take the risk of accidents, so we put the diapers back on. I decided to hold off just for a couple of weeks, since the rest of this month will be very busy for us. I will have them trained soon, no matter what it takes! I may have to call in for back up! The balloons were a great reward, and helped to motivate them. We celebrated the end of our busy week, with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. David, Melissa and Aiden came for a visit. We always have a great time with them. Kylie and Carson loved hanging out with their little cousin, and they did pretty well sharing their toys.
We went swimming and had a B.B.Q at my parents house. The kids loved swimming, and even jumped off of the diving board. here is a picture of my lounge lizard.

This is my sister in law (Kyle's sister) She and her family just relocated to this area. She was a former Miss Idaho, and had tickets to the 60th anniversary of miss Idaho. She invited me to go with her for the second night. It was so awesome to see that up close. We sat in the fourth row. Kyle would have been in heaven.....especially when it was time for the swimsuit competition! he.he. Sherrie got to go up on stage and was recognized. I would love to go again someday, and look forward to seeing how Miss Nampa does at the Miss America pageant in January. We also managed to squeeze in another trip to the zoo. The kids love seeing the animals. There was a neat giraffe exhibit, where we could watch the giraffes eating inside their very tall house. One giraffe walked over and put his head against the glass right next to Kylie's face. It was so awesome. She was not scared a bit. Here are the cousins! Aiden is such a cute little guy, and he has an awesome personality. he has had a rough year, and it is always great to see him happy and smiling! Thanks for coming to visit us, we wished you lived closer.

We made it through the terrible two's!

They actually were not that terrible. They did tag team me left and right, but it kept my life interesting. Everyday there was something new that they discovered, which meant a new mess for me to clean up. I wouldn't have it any other way. I may have complained at the time, but when I look back at all these events, it makes me laugh.
On June 7th, 2006..........mine and Kyle's lives changed forever in the most amazing way. We always knew that kids would change our life, but I don't think you can fully realize how much.......until you have them.
They have come a long way! This was such an exciting day for us. We knew that when they were moved from the incubator to a crib, that we would get to bring them home really soon =)
Best Friends...most of the time
Our world now revolves around all three of them. They have made our life complete! It is so exciting to watch them grow, and learn new things each day. They pick up on everything, and we really have to becareful what we say these days, because they hear and remember all of our words, and use them in the correct context. We have heard them repeat some funny things!

We had a fun little party at our house, with family and friends. The kids had so much fun, and loved playing with their cousins that are new in town. They call them their new friends. Kylie was really embarrassed by us singing the birthday song to her. She did not know how to react. She had the funniest look on her face. Carson just smiled and soaked it all in! They got some really nice gifts. Their favorite was their new bikes.
This was a cute sugar cookie card that auntie Nicole sent them
They are wonderful little kids. We are so proud of them. Little Lexi is lucky to have such an awesome brother and sister. I am sure they will show her the ropes as she grows!

Carson and I have eachother all figured out. He knows when I am distracted by the t.v. or the phone, that he can get into things that he is not suppose to. I have learned to multi task, and watch t.v or talk on the phone, while I am staring at him. He knows when I am watching him, and he'll tell me "mom, you go watch your movie" so that he can have a little freedom. He,he.

We look forward to all the fun that age three will bring!!
